Here is a really good genealogy web site to check out:

www.familysearch.org
LDS has a huge family search database site that was developed by the the Mormon church. A must for a anyone interested in genealogy. They also have family search centers all over, where one can go and get their expert help. Also available are their computers to access microfilm, indexes, and in some cases you can access sites like Ancestry.com & Footnote.com without paying a fee. It was a very positive experience when I first started out

DUGGAN FAMILY TREE

Here is my Duggan Family Tree. I want to share with you the many discoveries and documents I have found while researching my Duggan Family.

This site was inspired by my children, Jessica, Edward and Joseph, my wonderful nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles, and because I am sure it will bring a good natured chuckle from my children, any future grandchildren.

There are a few reasons for this site. One is to show my family what I found. Second, is to find more family members. It's already helped me find cousins I never knew I had. Last, to show any interested viewers what they can find. I have spent over three years researching our Duggan family. Loving every minute of it. Finding out where our family came from, where they settled, and what they did during their lifetime has brought me many hours of enjoyment. It's unbelievable the wealth of information I found online, at libraries, and in our national archives. I don't see how this project can ever be finished. Things are being updated constantly and I am going to continue to update it with any new information I discover. I think you are going to be pleasantly surprised. Our ancestors are people that we can be proud of. The part they played in history is admirable.

I'm going to start with my great, great grandparents, Hamilton Duggan and Eupehmia Kennedy Duggan. I will tell you all the things I was able to find out about them. I will share all the documents I found and how these documents led me to more people and more information. There are still so many mysteries to solve. I will continue researching and try to solve them. I then go on to their son Matthew, my great grandfather. Eventually, I will add their other children William, Howard, Margaret, Sarah, Elizabeth, Euphemia and Fanny and their families.

Since Matthew, my great grandfather, and was in the Army for 40 years, I was able to find out a generous amount of history on him. I have gathered enough information to present a clear picture of who he was, and what he did during his lifetime. I was able to develop a good timeline of events. His participation in fighting Indians to his battles during the Civil War makes reading about him interesting. He had a colorful life to say the least.

I welcome any questions, theories, or opinions you might want to share. Bring them on!
